The Nikon Z7 II is a 45.7 megapixel full-frame mirrorless camera. The Z7 II features two memory card slots but they are not identical, as each slot supports a different type of memory card.
Slot one supports CFexpress Type B cards and XQD cards, and slot two supports SD/SDHC/SDXC (UHS-II / UHS-I) cards.
The CFexpress 2.0 standard is supported but not the latest 4.0 standard. CFexpress 4.0 cards can still be used in the Z7 II but you won’t see any speed benefits in-camera. You will however benefit when copying files to your computer providing a 4.0 reader is used.

We strongly recommend using CFexpress Type B cards over the now older and slower XQD cards that many manufacturers are discontinuing.
If you wish to record 4K UHD 60p (360 Mbps) video then you can do this with a CFexpress Type B card or a V60/V90 rated UHS-II SD card.
The Fastest CFexpress Type B Cards
If you shoot a lot of bursts and require the buffer to clear quickly then we would recommend a CFexpress Type B card.
